Hello music fans! Here we are on the edge of summer 2016 already! Seems like the year just got started, I've been so busy working on my new album that time has really flown by.
Yes, my friends, I am announcing that there is a new Blues-Rock release coming from S. A. Harris titled "Blues De'Ville" this summer!
I've been so inspired by the creative process my brain seems to do on its own, then instinctually turns on the tap to release the riffs, hooks and melodies as if I've been playing the songs for my whole life.
When the creativity is flowing, there's nothing like it and I truly feel at one with the Universe. I can't wait to let the world hear the new album! Watch for it this summer...
As some of you may know, Online Music Streaming has become the norm these days. CD's and MP3 downloads are not as popular as they once were. To artists, this change in the way people listen to music has drastically decreased the levels of income from music royalties.
It's important for music fans to know that music streaming on average pays about $0.01 per song stream. This means that if you play one of your favorite artist’s songs 1,000 times, the artist would only receive about $10.00 for their song streams! That's not much!
Compare that to buying a MP3 download for $0.99 for example... The artist, if he owns the publishing rights and song writer’s rights would receive about 90% of the amount paid. The difference is about a 98% loss of earning potential. This means that we as artists must promote even harder to get more music listeners to support artists by adding our music to their music streaming song list libraries.
It's a lot easier if you have a major label pushing your music with their big A&R machines, but for those of us who are not signed to a major label contract, it's fully on our own shoulders to self-promote on a grass roots level if we want to make a living at our craft.
So, please show your support for artist’s efforts and ad the music of artists such as S. A. Harris to your online streaming libraries today!
I'm also looking for volunteers who would like to be a part of my grass roots effort to grow my music business. I need a few people who can help with online promotion, to get my music noticed by all of their social network friends.
If we can build a promotional team and get the ball rolling, I would absolutely be happy to reward my team for their efforts. Maybe free music, mentions in album credits, cross promotion of their works on all of my presences, or brought on as a paid contractor.
Let's talk and come up with an acceptable agreement! Even if you could only help one or two days per month I welcome you to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep the Blues Alive!
S. A. Harris
